“From 0 to 100” is not only available online, but also on paper. The essential handbook supports people who want to make a difference with their ideas. It provides motivation to actually put ideas into action.
Vision what fundamental change do you want to bring about?
Example VillageOffice
The clear vision of the pioneers in this project: the amount of unnecessary mobility in Switzerland should be reduced. After all, this will have economic, environmental and social benefits:
If people work locally, this will strengthen rural economic regions.
If the number of commuters falls, our climate-damaging carbon footprint will be reduced.
If there is no longer a separation between where rural people live and work, there will be an increase in their quality of life.
My 0 to 100 moment
Seeing your own idea in the light of a big vision.
In this step, it is not yet about the behaviour of individual groups, but rather about the following question: why and for what purpose should people change their behaviour in the first place?
Take your first idea and ask yourselves the following question: if people are to change the way they behave, why should they actually do so?
Irrespective or not of whether you are satisfied with your first answer: ideally, you should answer the question another two times. Each time you ask yourself why, the quality of your answer will improve. We promise!
Generally speaking, this will take you from a small-scale to a large-scale view, transporting you from the local to a global dimension. This will allow you to see local change in the context of general, global efforts.
1. The local change in Switzerland. In this example: a reduction in unnecessary mobility.
2. The context of global efforts. In this example: rural economic support, reduction in CO2, higher quality of living.
The problem and the vision are two sides of the same coin.
In other words: your vision is the opposite of the problem that you are trying to solve. The problem describes a situation that no longer occurs in your vision: too much commuting, too many CO2 emissions, lacking quality of life in rural areas. By knowing both sides of the coin, you are able to present your vision in a more convincing fashion.
what has to change and what for exactly? With this exercise, you explore your vision in more detail.
